Food and Fitness

We aim to teach children about the benefits of keeping healthy by making good food choices and getting plenty of regular exercise.  We encourage pupils to make healthy food choices by running a fruit tuck shop and only allowing fruit or vegetable snacks at break times.  We take part in the Brush Bus scheme, regularly cook with the children and have enjoyed a visit from touring theatre workshops teaching us about the dangers of Ecoli and Salmonella. During lessons pupils learn about eating 5-a-day and about the eatwell plate.

 

We run after school clubs to encourage pupils to keep active in addition to their PE and play sessions.  Our Multisports club, organised by Mr Hill is also well attended.  We have recently taken part in the second Beat the Street event organised by RCT and welcome CCFC community foundation into school on a regular basis to encourage pupils to get active.
