We explored the work of Edward TingaTinga from Tanzania. He was a very poor artist who shared his creative ideas by using whatever he could find. He painted using old bicycle paints and captured the colours and animals of his homeland. His style of art became very popular and helped people to earn a living by creating this type of art for visitors to his country. We used some of the TingaTinga stories to help with our creative writing too.

We took a walk around our local landscape, explored the work of Kyffin Williams and Martyn Evans and talked about how different their painting styles were. We explored the features of what makes Wales, Wales and planned using our knowledge of perspective, layers, background, mid-ground and foreground. We combined all the skills we have learned to create our collages. We even collected patterns in nature in our locality using the sunshine and some photochromic paper to make some spectacular skies!
