This week we are moving onto looking at multiplying. We are going to be using the grid method. But first of all we need to know where this comes from, and why we are using it. If we look at the first sum

4 x 22 = ____

We first of all have to partition the number, all that means is to split it into tens and units

4 x 2 2 = _____           2 2                     so   22 is 20+2

                                    /      \

                               20       2

Can you partition

  1.   26
  2.   35
  3.   45
  4.   57

Now try the worksheet

I have also included the answer sheet.

I would like you to make a wish jar. Think of all the lovely, exciting things you want to do when lockdown is over eg. go to Oakwood, go swimming etc.
