Welcome to Dosbarth Onnen!

Working in Dosbarth Onnen this year will be Mrs Morgan and Miss Williams. 

Our topic in class this term is called "Back to the Future".  This topic has a science and technology focus, and we will be exploring topics such as dinosaurs, fossils and the 1980's era!

Literacy

This term in Literacy, your child will be working on Read, Write Inc sounds and using these to write words. They will be developing their writing by writing in sentences, writing captions, lists and re-telling stories. 

Maths

This term we will be working on counting and working with numbers to 100. We will be working on recognising and writing these numbers, counting forwards/backwards, place value and ordering numbers. 

Reading

Your child will bring a new reading book/ words/sounds home on a Friday and this needs to be returned by a Monday in order for us to read in class with your child.  

Homework

A homework task will be set for your child every fortnight using Teams. The task set will be aimed at reinforcing work covered in class. 

PE

Your child’s PE day will be on a Tuesday. Please ensure they wear their kit to school, our sessions will take place outside so can they wear jogging bottoms, t-shirt and suitable footwear (trainers or daps).

Fruit

Your child can bring fruit in for break time. Please make sure it is in a suitable container marked with their name. Please can fruit such as oranges be peeled ready to eat. Children are also welcome to bring a bottle of water again labelled with their name.

Outdoor learning

We will have lots of opportunities to do fun learning and activities outdoors in all weathers make sure your child comes into school with a suitable coat.
