Healthy Eating

At Oaklands we encourage pupils to make Healthy choices.

All pupils can bring a reusable water bottle to school each day and can use this throughout the day, using the water fountains to replenish their bottles as they need.

Pupils in the Foundation Phase from Nursery to Year 2 will be provided with semi skimmed, school milk daily.

We encourage our Foundation Phase pupils to bring a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables into school for a break time snack.

Pupils from Years 3 to 6 have access to the Fruit Tuck Shop which sells fruit daily at break time for 20p an item.

We follow the menu set by RCT Catering Team for our school meals. However, there is a daily hot choice of vegetarian and non vegetarian hot meal, as well as a variety of jacket potatoes and filled rolls. Pupils receive a meal with dessert and a drink. Please take a look at the school menu to choose your favourite meals. More information about RCT School Meals Service can be found here RCT School Meals .

The two weekly menu can be found below.

Pupils are welcome to bring a packed lunch to school, and we encourage parents to include a balanced choice.  Pupils are NOT permitted to bring fizzy/energy drinks in their packed lunch.  We also advise that pupils bring their lunch in a cool bag with an ice pack to keep it fresh.  For more information about Healthy Packed lunches please click the link Healthy Packed Lunches
