Thursday

Hi Everyone.

RWI will be the focus for English on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday I will set a language activity. This will give opportunity to practise new skills and also reinforce RWI sounds and words.

English

Choose your favourite part of the story, "Walking through the Jungle" Discuss with your mam or dad why you enjoy this part so much. With help write one sentence about the part you picked.

Parents

Your child will need support when writing. Remember to use the RWI rhymes.

  • Write the sentence so your child can copy underneath.
  • Write the sentence on a peace of paper for your child to copy from.
  • Those beginning to write independently will need help blending the words.
Below is a chart showing the rhyme for each letter. This will help with letter formation. Try and practise letter formation daily concentrating on the letters and words from your group. Remember there are lots for different ways to practise, e.g. pencils, pens, chalk, paint, sand, water.

Maths

Ask your mam or dad to write numbers 1-10, 1-20 or 1-50 on a large piece of paper. Have a go writing the numbers on post it notes and try matching them. If you don't have post its use pieces of paper.

Topic

Make your own Jungle den. This can be done indoors or outdoors. You could use chairs, tables, boxes, blankets, towels etc

Take your soft toys in the den and have a jungle picnic.

Remember everyone its Thursday! Don't forget to clap at 8pm for our wonderful frontline workers.
