Substance Use and Misuse
At Oaklands we provide education about substance misuse so that our children are informed to make responsible choices as they navigate through their lives. Pupils are involved in age appropriate sessions which can begin with talking about medicines and prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco and vaping, legal and illegal drugs and volatile substances. Our sessions always start with the pupils knowledge and aim to inform them of the effects that substances have on the body. We also discuss the health and social effects that substance misuse may cause. We use resources provided by the Welsh Network of Healthy schools and you are welcome to take a look at some of them should you wish to, please just contact the school office.
