Dosbarth Helyg

Croeso pawb i Dosbarth Helyg! Welcome to Dosbarth Helyg everyone!

Here is some information that you might find useful.

All children will enter the classroom in the mornings through the main junior entrance and will leave via the same door at 3.10pm.

Resources

We have class resources for the children, so they will not need pencil cases.

Pupils will need a coat as we will be accessing the outdoors whenever possible.

Pupils may bring a water bottle, labelled with their name and packed lunch if they are not having a school lunch.

School Dinners

We will be going to the dining hall, maintaining social distancing for our school dinners and these are available at a cost of £2.55 per day (£12.75 a week).  We would really appreciate your support in helping us by paying online for all dinners.  Please contact Mrs McFadden in the office should you need more information about how to pay online. The dinner menu will be published in the weekly newsletter via the school app.  Choices of hot meal, baguettes or jacket potatoes can be made daily.

Fruit Tuck

There will be no tuck trolley at break times.  Pupils are able to bring fruit tuck to school and keep this in their bag/lunchbox.

Homework

There will be a homework task every fortnight (on a Friday.) This will need to be returned the following Friday.

Homework will be sent out via Microsoft Teams, and password details will also be sent home.

Reading

Pupils will be given a reading book from our school reading scheme on a Friday, and this should be returned on a Monday.  I will also allocate reading tasks using Giglets, which is our online reading resource.  Please support your child by reading regularly with them and encouraging them to read other materials such as newspapers, magazines or library books.

Spelling and Tables

Pupils will be given weekly spellings and tables to learn on a Monday and they will have a test on a Friday.  Please can you help your child to practise these for a few minutes each day using our school subscription to TT Rockstars (app download is available).

PE

PE days will be on Tuesday and Thursday.  Pupils need to wear their PE kits to school e.g. jogging bottoms/leggings, a school red, polo shirt and trainers. Pupils need to remove all jewellery and watches for these sessions and those with long hair need to tie it up.

Please wear PE kit to school.

Jewellery

Please can I remind you that the school policy is a pair of studs and a watch and all other jewellery should be kept safely at home.  Thank you.

If you have any questions or need to get in touch about anything, please feel free to contact me via email,

Thank you
