  We have been invited along to visit the Royal Opera and Ballet facility in Aberaman to celebrate its 30th birthday. The warehouse in Aberaman is where costumes and sets are built for the Royal Opera House and Ballet in London and when they tour.  They are giving us an exclusive behind the scenes tour and an opportunity to take part in a creative workshop to help celebrate the 30 years they have been working in Aberaman.   The pupils will have the chance to see how different jobs contribute to the Royal Opera and Ballet and this will help with our Careers and the world of work area of our curriculum.  

  We will be leaving school at 9.30am, to take part in the session from 10am-12pm and will return to school for lunch as normal at approximately 12.30pm. The pupils will be walking across to the Aberaman Industrial estate so will need to wear their uniform and comfortable, sturdy shoes.

  We will be going on a trip to Techniquest on July 2nd to take part in a science workshop as part of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama’s (RWCMD) annual summer puppetry project as part of the ‘Summer of Invention’. The theme of the workshop is "Team Space" and the theme is all about meeting the team of astronauts on the International Space Station and to explore how they live and work together to make a home in space!
  
  We will leave at around 9.15am and return before the end of the school day. 
  
  Pupils will need to wear school uniform and sensible shoes, and a coat/suncream depending on the weather. Pupils will need a packed lunch. We will not have time for the shop so pupils will not need any money.
